Series and Season enders PART 1
Thursday, May 17, 2007

Ghost Whisperer -- JLo Hew, in her baby doll dresses nonetheless, discovers that something bad is about to happen on the day of May 11. This is supposed to be the fifth of a series of catastrophes that have happened for the past 4 years and this one is supposed to seal the deal. 4 children who have survived the last 4 catastrophes have acquired special skills and abilities since then and they all seem to lead to Melinda (JLo Hew's character). Drawings and pictures of her standing in the middle of the memorial site of last year's plane disaster seemed to symbolize her death but alas, aside from dressing up everday in baby doll dresses, she still manages to put on her fake lashes and lip gloss. But never mind that, it was a pretty riveting episode like the one last year, as she shoves the kids aside to save them from the big fixture (was it a post) which was nudged ominously by "nature". Her soul departs her body and she sees herself sprawled on the site while her white (ack!) leggings tighten her seemingly thickening ankles. Her paramedic husband revives her but only after she experiences an after-life encounter... with her FATHER who tells her about her BROTHER. That brother turns out to be the OTHER Ghost Whisperer, Gabriel. Can't wait for Season 3!

Gilmore Girls -- What can I say, the GG ending was sad, sad, sad. The entire Stars Hollow town, headed by Luke, gets all worked up trying to throw a graduation re-enactment party for Rory, only to learn that she had gotten accepted for a job that requires her to follow Barak Obama around and that she has to leave in THREE DAYS. Luke devices a secret plan excluding Lorelai and a town meeting is held. There, the show devotes a lot of time for each and every town character. Lane, Zach, Brian, Kirk, Miss Patty, Babette, Michel, Sookie, Jackson, Morrie, even Gypsy! But guess who they forgot... TJ and Miss Kim! How oh how did they forget about these two people?? Bbrrr. Anyway, long story longer, the party pushes through albeit held under a tent hand-sewn by Luke because of the rain. Rory makes a goodbye speech which was the ultimate tear-jerker of the episode. The town cries with her, Lorelai sniffles and Emily and Richard couldn't be more proud. Lorelai then walks up to Luke after Sookie tells her that this party was "all Luke" and they kiss. Friday night dinners are still on though as the Gilmores realize just how much of their lives are devoted to Rory. I like the end scene. Lorelai and Rory at Luke's cafe at 5 am. Twas like they went full circle from episode 1. I remember watching Episode 1 with my Mom. She actually told me, "Nindut lagi ni nga show kay dili about hubo-hubo." Troo that, mom. Oh and guesting Christiane Amanpoure? Brilliant!
