Anniv weekend
Monday, July 02, 2007

We spent the entire weekend celebrating our Anniv. Hehe. Actually, 'twas just an excuse to celebrate and indulge ourselves in anything that doesn't have anything to do with housework. Haha.

Anyway, we went to Mahoney Park which was where we brought the Chicago peeps (Ate Joyce, John and the kids) last year when they come over to Omaha. We biked for about an hour then enjoyed our "packed lunch", a.k.a. the KFC bucket. Snacked on some fruits and enjoyed a short afternoon nap. This was before we hit the water slides and pools which we enjoyed very much. This was our first time to frolic in the water ever since Cebu/Bohol last year so we liked it very much. As usual, we tried every water slide out there. After that, we did more biking (yes, we have GOT to get that cardio bit going, hehe) then hit the movies.

The next day, after meeting up with our Pinoy friends after church, we all had a salo2 at one of our friend's house... an actual 4 corners away from us. The whole 2-minute drive was exhausting! Haha! Maayo nalang, when mahutdan mi ug asukar, naa mi balay katuktukan. Their kids are adorable so we see ourselves enjoying their company as neighbors.

We were supposed to watch the fireworks but the cooking took quite a while and Joen played some golf with some of the guys which took about 3 hours so no more fireworks viewing. Nevertheless, sturya2, chika2 and a little drinking tided us over 'til almost midnight. It's not a wonder anymore why the wives gather round and the husbands just love it. I've never really belonged to a girl talk group but I guess when you're married and you plan on having kids, getting advise and hearing some horror stories on parenthood prepare you somehow for a life you can only imagine. Oh and Alex and Elean already promised us their crib! Whoopiee! Freebies are a'welcome!

Here are some pics. And that's how we spent our Anniversary weekend. BOW.

P.S. Just realized that our Anniversary lies in the middle of Mama/Papa's Anniv (June 22) and Mommy/Daddy's Anniv (July 3). If sa hug pa, naa gyud mi sa tunga2 ni Joen on both families. Feels warm and fuzzy. Hehe.
